What's inside the checklist

The checklist is organized by how far out you are, not by category, because that's how wedding planning actually arrives, in waves. Each phase holds only the tasks that make sense to do then, so you're never looking at 140 items at once.

Early phases cover the decisions everything else depends on: your budget range, a rough guest count, and the date and venue. Middle phases handle vendors, invitations and the details that need lead time: stationery, alterations, rentals. The final phases are logistics: seating, timelines, final counts, payments and the wedding-day schedule.

Who it's for

Couples who just got engaged and want to know where to start, and couples who are partway in and suspect they've forgotten something. If you're planning without a wedding planner, this is the document that keeps the whole thing in order.

How to use it

Work one phase at a time. Set the two or three tasks that unlock others first: budget, guest count, venue, and don't touch later phases until those are settled. Revisit it weekly rather than daily; most wedding tasks move in weeks, not hours.
